Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, a telecommunications company may release 5G services in the latter half of 2020. The move will halt the telecommunication companys arch rivals, Vodafone and Bharti Airtel to gain prominence in the 4G sector as well as benefit from data monetization, said SBI (State Bank of India) Cap securities to the Indian daily news, The Economic Times.
The brokerage firm further added that Reliance Jios decision to accelerate the progress of the 5G project is affected by mega fundraising schemes of Bharti Airtel and Voda, which will soar 4 G capacities.
Rajiv Sharma, who is heading the research at SBI Cap securities, said that he anticipates the Indian government will auction 5G spectrum at the beginning of 2020. Amid the three dominating telecommunication companies, Reliance Jio is the only single firm which is coming up with the sale of 5G airwaves. On the other hand, the two telecoms, Bharti Airtel and VIL, are not willing to conduct an auction, as reported by the Indian daily news, The Economic Times.
A decisive 5G upgrade next year to make competition from Airtel and VIL on the 4G front irrelevant, in its bid to maintain leadership in fast broadband technology, thought and revenue market share fronts, said Sharma.
