A recent survey by CIRP (Consumer Intelligence Research Partners), a US research firm, states that Apples newest iPhone models are comparatively enticing more android users than in previous years. Further, the report shows that 16 per cent Apple iPhone buyers have elevated from android phones since the launch of iPhone XR whereas other iPhone models have not received this leap in their respective launch-years. In September 2017, when Apple iPhone 8 and 8 plus were launched, then there were 12 per cent buyers elevated from android phones. Whereas, in November 2017, when Apple iPhone X was launched there was merely an 11 per cent consumer up gradation in Apple iPhone customers.

In a press release, Mike Levin, co-founder and partner of CIRP, "It appears that iPhone XR did serve to attract current Android users. Further, he added, Of course, Apple doesn't just state plainly its launch strategy. But, based on the pricing and features, we can infer that Apple positioned the iPhone XR to appeal to potential operating systems switchers from Android." ( source: CNBC)

Focusing on the US consumer market, CIRPs research report states that one-third of current iPhone buyers in the US procured the latest iPhone XR within 30-days of its release. The newest model costs $749, which is much cheaper than other iPhone models.
