Jain Irrigation to buy farm technology firm ETwater

With this acquisition, Jain Irrigation's water management technology product offerings will expand.

Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd is acquiring a California, US-based company ETwater Systems Inc. ETwater provides irrigation technology products.

With this acquisition, Jain Irrigation's water management technology product offerings will expand. It will also strengthen the company's position in the US smart agriculture market.

The acquisition will be made through its subsidiary in the US. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

Aric Olson, President of Jain Irrigation Inc, said, "Jain is an early leader in the Internet of Things (IoT) for agriculture. ETwater will improve our position in agriculture and help us make a bigger impact in reducing water waste in landscape irrigation."

Jain Irrigation has 30 factories across the globe; 12 plants are in India and 18 overseas. It works in the making of micro-irrigation systems, plastic pipes, plastic sheets, agro-processed products, tissue culture plants and other products.
