The Indian baby care products retailer, FirstCry is reportedly acquiring pre-primary school firm, Oi Playschool.
The SoftBank-backed firm, FirstCry proclaimed its entry into education space by purchasing Oi Playschool, The Economic Times reported.
With this acquisition, FirstCry decides to enhance its premium chain and education syllabus to create a change in the pre-primary education niche.
According to the cited media report, FirstCry decides to expand centers of Oi Playschool up to 1000 by 2024.
At present, Oi Playschool, which runs a franchise business model, has at most 55 centers in Bengaluru as well as Hyderabad. The pre-primary school runs educational classes comprising pre-nursery, nursery, and pre-preparatory classes.
The pre-primary school business asserts to concentrate on the childs security, safety, after-school activities and delivering a positive ambiance.
The acquired firm, Oi Playschool will surpass its existing competitors like Kidzee and Eurokids in the education niche, which is rapidly growing sphere and anticipated to grow $5 billion by 2022.
