Jason Unsworth, the British entrepreneur has shown his interest in investing the dooming carrier, Jet Airways. Unsworth has presented an EOI to invest in the Indian carrier.
However, the public banks who are leading the resolution plan reckon that Unsworths proposal will not be taken into consideration, as reported by the Indian daily news, Business Standard.
So far, Indigo Partners, Etihad (partner of Jet Airways) and TPG have been selected at the EOI stage. While other private equity firms have decided not to participate in the race.
In a tweet, Unsworth said, Last night our consortium submitted to SBI the EoI document. In the following tweet, he added Lalit Verma(Future Trend Capital), Naresh Goyal(Founder of Jet Airways), Dhiraj(Redcliffe Capital) and other companies as the consortium partners.
Unsworth runs Atmosphere Intercontinental Airlines and has shown massive interest in taking over the debt-laden Jet Airways.
According to the anonymous sources, Unsworth had given only a page showing his interest in Jet without submitting supporting documents. The banks leading resolution plan of Jet Airways stated the proposal of Unsworth cannot be taken into consideration presently since the date of EOI has passed.
The banks will have to take a decision over the proposal, after seeing the outcome of the bid, said an anonymous source.
