Acer Anticipating A Surge In Revenue In The Indian Gaming Market

Acer expecting increased growth in the domestic Indian market

Acer, a Taiwanese multinational hardware and electronics corporation, is anticipating increased revenue growth in India. The anticipation has been done, owing to the recent digital gaming tournament that is initiated by the company. The aftermath of the tournament showcases three-fold revenue growth of the company in the Indian gaming market.

In an interview, Andrew Hou, president, Pan Asia Pacific at Acer says, The entire company up to November, our gaming revenue doubled; the Asia Pacific grew 2.5 times and India grew three times in revenue. Further, he added, We want to use Predator as a new sub-brand (source: ET)

According to IDC (International Data Corporation), Acer has a 12.1 per cent share in the Indian market presently. So far, the company has sold 48,000 gaming units and 2.8 lakh personal computer in India in the present year. The statistics show that increased sales have helped the company to acquire the fourth position in the domestic computer market.

With the surge in the revenue, Hou, president of Acer, believes that the company will continue to grow in the Indian market, thus, evenly competing Acers biggest market- China. Further, he adds, Gaming is still gaining prominence in India and that leaves a room for bigger growth in that segment.
