In order to allow new publishers to develop a news service that is similar to the Discover feature of Snapchat, Google has brought to market a new technology.
Snapchat launched its Discover feature in January 2015. It has made sharing images, videos and text collections, which are accessible for 24 hours, really easy and fast. Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, had also copied many features of Snapchat earlier and it seems like its Googles turn now as they have a launched competitor feature to Snapchats Discover.
The search engine giant, Google, also offered $30 Billion to buy Snap Inc. The offer was made with an informal dialogue with Snap during the latters last funding bit. "We don`t have anything to announce at the moment but look forward to sharing more soon," a Google representative was quoted by tech website CNET.
Snapchats CEO, Evan Spiegel, is rumored to have said no to Google earlier as well when it had made an offer to buy the company for $4 billion. Spiegel, who is thought of as independent did not find it worthy to sell his company to Google or Facebook, which had also tried its luck. Snap Inc. is yet to announce their second earnings report next week.
