For an entrepreneur, who follows a storytelling approach, has to share knowledge and attract potential customers. Once readers or viewers believe in your story, they will tend to become attached. 

According to a report by Deloitte, in terms of media consumption, an average mobile web user in India consumes about 6.2 hours of media daily which includes 102 minutes of mobile media and 79 minutes of online (desktop) media consumption. 10 Social media and entertainment (Music and Video) are the two activities on which the Indian mobile internet users spend their time the most followed by games, general search, and emails. 

To become a good storyteller, you have to share your entrepreneurial journey. How you established the business, or how it is scaling up. Following this, you have to constantly check how your audience is increasing. Examining your strategy at the end of every month is crucial. It will help estimate progress and implement changes to make the strategy more efficient. 

Importance of Storytelling 

Content creation is currently happening at a large amount. While some creators make content for advertising while others attract potential customers. Amid these, you have to choose your side and accordingly, form and arrange the content. As more and more content is being produced, you have to ascertain an effective way to keep readers engaged.

Today, content is becoming banal thereby, people are looking for a content that stands out. A content that is not just an eye-catcher but is useful as well. If they are not able to find it then they will leave your website or social media channels. 

Add Visuals 

While creating your stories, you have to make them enticing by adding visuals. You can do storytelling through images and videos, and convey your message easily. If you want to increase your lead conversions, then work on your strategy and create a wide audience.

The art of storytelling is unique; it acts as a food for readers and brings them close to the company. By sharing the company’s voyage, you involuntarily creates a relation between reader and the firm, in turn, reinforcing the bond.

Persuading the Audience 

Storytelling is immensely useful to persuade people. You can encourage people to buy a certain product by touching their emotional aspect. Content marketing via storytelling not only entices users but also makes them believe in the success of a product. 

The audience responds to emotional connections and thus, enables to build trust in your company. Once you learn the art of persuasion, you would not strive to increase your website traffic but do better storytelling and increase conversions. While setting up a content marketing strategy, you have to formulate a plan to bring readers toward the website and create engaging content.

Whatever you publish as a content, it will be wholly consumed by customers and affect their actions. They will consider the content true and precise and accordingly, take decisions. Once the reader visits your website, they anticipate that what you say is what you sell. Thereby, it becomes crucial for an entrepreneur to talk about the industry rather than advertise business. 

Besides promoting the business, you should focus on publishing stories on the website. Storytelling can be done anywhere--landing page, headline and introduction. If you have a cohort of content creators in your team, then ask them to create case studies, research reports and other content that talk about the company's experience in the sector. Such content will become underpinnings of the company.

In the digital times, a plethora of content is available on social media. According to a report by Statista, with over 560 million internet users, India is the second largest online market in the world, ranked only behind China. It was estimated that by 2023, there would be over 650 million internet users in the country. Despite the large base of internet users, the internet penetration rate in the country stood at around 50 percent in 2020.

Seeing the count of the Internet users, it is crucial to improve your storytelling skills. Storytelling is inclusive of various benefits and facilitates in scaling up your business.
