India is the third largest economy in the world in terms of GDP (PPP) and second in terms of population. India is also one of the fastest growing economies in the world and a hub of IT and business start-ups. Every other graduate wants to set-up their own business. You must have heard from others that starting a business is a risky job, rightly so. Not every idea take the same shape as Ola, Paytm, Flipkart or other successful start-ups. The reason behind the failures is- funding, no mentor or a wrong business idea. The present market is very competitive and everyone expects something new and unique.
One needs to research about your business idea and opt for something relevant in the present market scene.
Here are some best business ideas to kick-start your entrepreneurial journey:
- Breakfast Services or Joints:
It is said that "All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast." You must have also noticed that tea stalls and small joints are always filled with customers. Due to a busy lifestyle and early morning shifts people don't get time to cook and prefer having breakfast outside. It is something that will always in trend and do well in the competitive market. If you are really interested in food and ready to prepare and serve, then go for it.
- Education/Coaching classes/tuition centres:
Today, level of education has become high and every parent wants their kids to be to score more. This business doesn't need much space or any funding to start this business. Probably, it is one of the most cost-effective businesses to start with. You just need to have the skills and a proper space to teach. There are a lot of coaching centres across India, and Kota is one such example where people's source of income is tuition classes. You can promote your classes online as well offline to get public's attention.
- Tour and travel planner:
Are you interested in travelling or are you the planner of every trip in your gang? Why not go for this profession. Take my friend Cynthia Joseph, she has a knack for travelling and after coming from a trip, she decided to become a travel planner. Now, she has made huge contacts and it is her source of income. In this business, there is no starting cost, you just need a laptop and internet to book and plan everything. Maintain a website and keep updating and posting pictures of your previous trips. This will help in promoting.
- Wedding Planner:
India is known for hosting big fat weddings. Take the recent example of Sonam Kapoor's wedding. Their wedding planner made their dream wedding come true. In India, weddings are taken seriously and that's why there is a profession and demand for a wedding planner is increasing day by day. So, if you are creative and can handle multiple tasks then you can try your luck. It can be challenging but if you are able to handle this then nothing like it.
- Graphic Designing:
If you are creative and used to design the copy covers or on pages then now it's the time to execute it in a digital format. It is easy to learn on your own. You can watch YouTube tutorials and do experimenting so that you can learn more. This profession is highest in demand and you can just work from home. For this too you need your laptop and all the important software. Just keep in mind to promote your work and increase your contact list to get more work.
- Laundry Services:
Even if you don't have any experience in this industry, you can try this business idea. There will be competitions so, select a prime location and differentiate yourself from the existing competition. You need to organise, advertising and a vehicle for transportation. Try to open this service near college campuses, office buildings or populated areas to get more customers.
You have to work hard to implement these ideas. Your innovative ideas can make your business profitable and a successful venture.
